At Westview, we are committed to genuine worship every Sunday. Our desire is to focus on the only One who is worthy of our praise, and His name is Jesus. It is a joy to do this in community with His people. So whether it’s through Bible-centered, expository preaching, powerful music, engaging videos, or the celebration of baptism and the Lord's Supper, we strive to create an environment where every worshiper can draw closer to God.
We are committed to living out the values of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Our mission is to love God, love others, and serve the world by sharing the good news of Jesus Christ.Â
We are committed to loving God and loving others, and to be known for our love for one another.
We strive to glorify God through worship that is rooted in scripture, and that draws us closer to Him.
We are called to serve our community and those in need, through both physical and spiritual acts of love and kindness.
We seek to spread the good news of Jesus Christ to all people, and to share the gospel through both deed and word.
We prioritize the practice of discipling others in the faith, helping them to grow in their understanding of the Bible and their relationship with God.
We strive to be wise stewards of the resources God has given us, using them to meet the needs of the church and community.
We seek to foster unity in diversity, standing together as a church family united in our purpose of sharing God’s love.
We seek to fulfill the Great Commission, making disciples of Jesus Christ in our region and beyond.
We invite you to explore our beliefs and join us in our pursuit of living out our faith in boldness and passion.
We believe the entire Bible is the inspired Word of God and that men were moved by the Spirit of God to write the very words of Scripture. Therefore, we believe the Bible is without error in the original autographs. (II Tim. 3:15-17; II Pet. 1:19-21)
We believe in one God who exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. They are co-eternal and co-equal with one another in nature and essence sharing the same power and attributes according to Scripture. (Gen. 1:1, 26; Rom. 8:14-15)
We believe Jesus is God. We believe in the full deity and humanity of Jesus Christ, His literal death, burial, and resurrection as the only way of salvation for mankind. He was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, and lived a sinless life. All things were made by, for, and through Him, and He is mankind’s only hope for eternal life. (John 1:1; Col. 1:13-22; Heb. 1:1-3)
We believe that all people were created in the image of God to have fellowship with him but became separated from him in that relationship through sinful disobedience. As a result, people are incapable of regaining a right relationship with God through their own efforts. (Gen. 1:26-27; Rom. 1:19-32; Rom. 3:10-18, 23; Col. 1:21-22)
We believe that no one can save themselves, and no one deserves to be saved. It is only through the great love, grace, mercy, and sovereignty of God that man has an opportunity for salvation. Salvation is a free gift offered through the substitutionary payment made by Christ on the cross for anyone who would put their faith in Him…the righteous One making a payment that man could not make to purchase a place in heaven for the unrighteous. Eternal life begins the moment one genuinely repents (turns from sin) and receives Jesus Christ into their life by faith. Saving faith is putting the full weight of one’s trust in Christ alone for salvation. (John 3:16; Rom. 10:9-10; John 11:25; Eph. 2:1; Rom. 5:1; Phil. 1:6)
We believe that because of the grace and sovereignty of God, every true believer can have confidence in the security of their salvation. Those whom God has saved through Christ will never fall away from the grace of God, not because of how tightly they hold onto Him, but because of how tightly they are held by Him. (Eph. 1:3-6; John 10:27-29)
We believe that baptism by immersion symbolizes the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus and is your public declaration that you have accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Savior. Baptism does not save you, but shows the world that you have already been saved. And while baptism is not required for salvation, it is a biblical command and demonstrates your love and obedience to Christ. (Rom. 6:4-7)
The Lord’s Supper is a symbolic act of obedience whereby members of the church partake of the elements of the bread and cup. These elements are a representation of the body and blood of Christ. Partaking of the Lord’s Supper shows the believer’s remembrance of the death of Christ and looks forward in anticipation of Him coming again. (I Cor. 11:23-26)
We believe all Christians should live for Christ and not for themselves. By obedience to the Word of God and daily yielding to the Spirit of God, every believer should mature and be conformed to the image of Christ. (Rom. 12:2; Phil. 1:6; II Cor. 3:18; Rom. 8:29; Eph. 5:18; Luke 9:23)
We believe that the church is the body of Christ, of which Jesus Christ is the head. The members of the church are those who have trusted by faith the finished work of Christ. The purpose of the church is to glorify God by loving him and by making him known to the lost world. Gathering together regularly, each one using their gifts and talents, and the giving of one’s resources to the work of the church are all responsibilities of the members. (Eph. 2:19-22; II Cor. 9:6-8; Heb. 10:23-25)
